Innovative Brand Concepts (IBC) is owned and operated by principals Robb Richardson and John
Balelo. Robb and John have traveled similar educational and career paths the last 17 years. Both
Las Vegas natives, Robb and John graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a
Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. As childhood friends with similar
entrepreneurial interests, they decided to go into business together, bringing quality franchises to
the Las Vegas hotel and casino marketplace.
Robb and John believe that Las Vegas is a unique place. In order to become part of the Las Vegas
hotel and casino landscape, they needed to bring to Las Vegas brands that were a cut above the
rest. Their first opportunity was at the Excalibur Hotel' Casino' Las Vegas where a new food court
was being established. As part of the food court an ice cream concept was needed. After a
thorough search they discovered a franchise named Cold Stone Creamery. In October 1998, IBC
opened the store as one of the top stores within the Cold Stone Creamery system. Approximately
ten years later, it remains one of the top stores in the system of over 1,500 units. After the
successful opening of their first store, Robb and John purchased a Quizno's Sub franchise which
opened in the Excalibur in February of 2002. It has consistently ranked in the top five units in sales
among over 5,000 stores worldwide. Since opening in July 2003, their Pizza Hut Express, also at the
Excalibur, has ranked in the top five of the Pizza Hut Express units worldwide. In August of 2003,
they opened a food court for the Stateline Nugget in Wendover, Nevada. IBC designed, built and
operated a KFC and A&W. In May of 2004, they opened another Quizno's sub franchise which is
located in the food court at the Luxor Las Vegas. It is also a high volume unit within the Quizno's
franchise system. Their most recent addition was Baja Fresh at the Excalibur which opened in March of 2003.
Since 1998, Robb and John have established a successful multi-unit quick service restaurant
company. Over the last twelve years, they have build and opened ten different units and have been franchisees of seven different franchise brands. In addition to their current portfolio of brands, they
have access to several well known franchises. As a licensee of Pizza Hut, they are part of the Yum
Brands family which consists of KFC, A&W, Long John Silvers, Taco Bell, Pasta Bravo and Wing Street.
IBC plans to maintain a successful and growing company by continuing their mission of running
clean, organized, high volume units and being a positive asset to those they do business with, such
as their landlords and franchisors. In addition, they plan to continue aligning themselves with
quality franchise brands and seeking locations similar to their current venues. |
